Dr. Pui-Wah Choi is a dedicated scientist focused on women’s health challenges. After her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, she returned to Hong Kong to found WomenX Biotech Limited, a startup aimed at innovating women's health solutions and improving disease diagnosis.
WomenX's mission is to enhance screening coverage for women’s diseases in Asia while minimizing discomfort from invasive procedures. The company is developing sanitary pads that detect conditions like cervical cancer, bacterial vaginosis, and STDs.
Dr. Choi established the first sanitary pad production line in Hong Kong and launched the LA ROSÉE brand in July 2022, which has received positive consumer feedback. Notably, WomenX introduced PadX-HPV, the first non-invasive product in Hong Kong that detects HPV types linked to cervical cancer directly from menstrual blood through a sanitary pad. With 99.2% accuracy, PadX is now available to all women in Hong Kong at all Manning's Pharmacies.
