Prof. Anne MacGregor, MD

Prof. Anne MacGregor is a highly experienced healthcare professional with over 35 years of clinical expertise in the fields of headache and women's health. With a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between migraines and hormones, she specializes in assisting women who experience migraines and suspect hormonal factors may be involved.

After completing her house jobs, Prof. MacGregor embarked on a research position at the City of London Migraine Clinic in central London. This opportunity opened her eyes to the significant impact of headaches on people's lives, despite the lack of seriousness and research dedicated to this area of medicine. It was during her time at the clinic that she discovered her own occasional headaches were, in fact, migraines.

Driven by her passion for advancing the understanding and treatment of migraines, Prof. MacGregor decided to veer from the standard training pathway and focused her efforts on exploring how women's hormones influence headaches. She took on additional roles in menopause and contraception, complementing her work in the field of headache.

Prof. Anne MacGregor's qualifications include a Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery (MB BS) from the University of London (St Bartholomew's Hospital), a Doctorate in Medicine (MD) from the University of London, and a Master of Science in Medical Education (MSc MedEd) from the Royal College of Physicians and University College London.

Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FFSRH) of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Prof. MacGregor is also accredited as a specialist and trainer by the British Menopause Society (BMS) and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FFSRH). Additionally, she holds a Diploma from the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (DIPM).
